Creating Meaning in Everyday Moments.
AURATARA began with a piece of jewelry that had little monetary value, but meant a great deal.
It was an old piece worn for years — through travels, new beginnings, quiet moments, and ordinary days. One day, while getting ready for a trip, we found it tucked away in a drawer. Its surface had softened with time, marked by a few small scratches. It wasn't quite the same as when it was new, but somehow, it felt even more meaningful.
Over time, it had become more than something to wear — a quiet reminder of the people, places, memories, and intentions connected to it.
That stayed with us. Why do some things become so hard to let go of, even when they aren't worth much? Maybe it's because, with time, we give them a meaning of our own.
We began to see jewelry differently, especially simple pieces made with natural stones. We loved the individuality of each stone — its color, texture, and character — and the way a handful of small stones could become something personal when worn close to you. We were also drawn to the traditions behind them, and the different meanings people have given stones across cultures and generations.
